To enhance the efficiency of forensic evidence collection during criminal investigations, the state government has allocated a mobile forensic vehicle to every district. These vehicles have been introduced as part of implementing the provisions of the BNS Act-2023, enacted by the Central Government.State DGP Harish Kumar Gupta recently inaugurated 26 such mobile forensic vehicles. As part of this initiative, City Police Commissioner S.V. Rajashekhara Babu inaugurated and inspected the vehicle allocated to the NTR PoliceCommissionerate at the City Police Commissioner’s office on Monday. He was accompanied by Admin DCP K.G.V.Saritha and other police officials.
The Commissioner thoroughly examined the modern scientific equipment inside the vehicle and reviewed its functionality.
*Vehicle Features*
The mobile forensic vehicle is equipped with LCD screens and modern tools necessary for collecting physical evidence. It enables the conduct of preliminary tests on key evidence—such as blood samples—directly at the crime scene and allows for immediate analysis to generate preliminary reports. CP S.V.Rajashekhara Babu stated that this vehicle would facilitate the meticulous collection of evidence in serious cases punishable by seven years or more of imprisonment. He noted that this would help accelerate case investigations and contribute to increasing conviction rates. The Commissioner of Police stated that the objective is to establish a crime- free society and ensure speedy justice for victims by leveraging technology. District Forensic Coordination Officer K.V.Krishna Kumar, Fingerprint Inspector Praveen Kumar, and crime scene investigation personnel participated in theevent.
