Make the September 30th Protest at the Labour Office a Success Resolve Construction Workers’ Issues: CITU

CITU leaders have called for making the protest (dharna) scheduled for September 30th at the Labour Office a success, demanding the resolution of construction workers’ issues.
Leaflets regarding the protest were released on Monday at Gandhi Centre, Nandigama, under the auspices of the NTR District Building Workers’ Union and the Nandigama Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Painting Workers’ Union (CITU).
Speaking on the occasion, CITU NTR District Vice-President K. Gopal demanded the restoration and implementation of all welfare schemes previously administered through the Construction Workers’ Welfare Board. He urged for the payment of ₹10 lakh in compensation in the event of a construction worker’s accidental death.
He also demanded the immediate settlement of pending claims related to the Welfare Board and insisted that offline procedures be continued alongside online methods for worker registrations and renewals. He reiterated the demand to reinstate all previously implemented welfare schemes. K. Gopal called upon workers to participate in large numbers and ensure the success of the protest scheduled for September 30 at the labor offices to address these issues. He also urged them to make the protest planned for October 8 at the District Collectorate a success.
Painting Workers Union leaders—including Patthi Haribabu, Bellamkonda Rambabu, Ramu, Kiran, Paramesh, and Sivayya—along with numerous other workers, participated in this event.
