Nalbari, October 11: Under the Seva Sankalp Abhiyan, the Assam government distributed cheques worth ₹1,000 and certificates of appreciation to cooks working under the PM POSHAN (Mid-Day Meal) scheme in government schools.
The programme for the East Nalbari Education Block was successfully organised on October 11, 2026, at Debiram Pathshala Higher Secondary School in Nalbari.
Nalbari District Commissioner Nibedan Das Patowary, Additional District Commissioner (Education) Mousumi Chetia, and East Nalbari Education Block Education Officer Matiur Rahman attended the programme, along with several other distinguished personalities.
The initiative aims to recognise and appreciate the valuable contributions of cooks who prepare meals for schoolchildren under the PM POSHAN scheme. The distribution of cheques and certificates is expected to encourage the workers and strengthen their dedication towards their responsibilities.
The programme highlighted the importance of acknowledging the efforts of frontline workers who play a significant role in supporting schoolchildren’s nutrition and well-being.
