Jaggayyapeta MLA and Telugu Desam Party Politburo member Sriram Rajagopal (Tatayya) has urged the government to take immediate action to ensure justice for families suffering from long-standing Inam land issues. He noted that ordinary citizens, who purchased these lands using their lifelong earnings in good faith, are currently facing difficulties due to legal regulations.
Land Purchased… Uncertainty Remains
On Wednesday, several affected individuals from the Jaggayyapeta constituency met with State Minister for Health and Medical Education Satya Kumar Yadav, NTR District Collector Lakshmisha, and State TDP President and MLA Palla Srinivasa Rao at their respective offices. Led by MLA Sriram Rajagopal (Tatayya), they explained their grievances.
The affected individuals stated that they had purchased the lands legally, believing the sellers held valid title deeds (pattas). They expressed their distress, noting that despite spending money saved over years for their families’ futures to acquire these lands, they are now facing hurdles regarding ownership rights, registration, and land usage due to current regulations. Speaking on the occasion, MLA Sriram Rajagopal (Tatayya) stated that the government should not view the issues faced by those affected by ‘Inam’ land disputes merely as land disputes; instead, it should consider them as matters concerning the livelihood security of numerous families.
“People purchased these lands trusting the *pattadars* (title holders), believing there would be no issues at the time of purchase. Now, however, they are facing difficulties due to legal regulations. This is not an issue concerning just one family; it is a matter linked to the future of many families. The government must examine this specifically and ensure justice for the affected individuals,” the MLA urged. He called upon the government to comprehensively review the problems faced by Inam land buyers under current regulations. He requested that, if necessary, legal amendments be made and appropriate guidelines formulated to provide clarity to the affected people. He emphasized that the government should devise a suitable solution so that people do not have to worry about the future of the lands they purchased with their lifelong earnings.
Bringing the Issue to the Government’s Attention
MLA Sriram Rajagopal (Tatayya) assured the affected individuals that he would bring the issue to the attention of the concerned ministers, senior officials, and the party’s state president, and would make every effort to ensure a resolution through the government. He urged the government to focus specifically on this issue to provide reassurance to families who have been awaiting a resolution for years. Emphasizing the theme “Resolution for land issues… Reassurance for families,” the MLA appealed for a permanent solution to the Inam lands issue, aiming to provide clarity and security regarding land rights to the affected families. The affected individuals expressed their gratitude to MLA Sriram Rajagopal (Tatayya) for stepping forward to bring their issue to the government’s attention. They expressed hope that the government would consider the matter favorably and ensure justice. The time has come for the government to respond and provide a permanent solution.
